NE 23rd Street community development — Choctaw, OK
A multi-tenant wellness and beauty hub where natural stone sets the tone for the whole block.

When this multi-business development came together on NE 23rd Street, the goal was a facade that felt cohesive, clean, and rooted in the community it serves. Minick Materials' Texas Mix stone blend — a combination of White Limestone roughback and Blue Limestone — delivered exactly that: a natural, grounded look with just enough contrast to make the building its own.

The same blend wraps the raised flowerbeds along the front, tying the landscaping into the architecture in a way that feels intentional from every angle. It's the kind of detail that doesn't shout, but you'd notice if it were missing.

FAQ’s

FAQs About Bulk Materials for Texas

Do you deliver to Texas?

Yes. We deliver to commercial and residential sites across Texas and nationwide for orders over half a ton. That includes Lubbock, Amarillo, the DFW area, and everywhere in between. Contact us to confirm availability and get a delivery quote for your location.

What is the minimum delivery for Texas orders?

The minimum for delivery is half a ton. For larger orders, like a full semi-truck load, we can accommodate those as well. Larger deliveries require a special quote that takes 24 to 48 hours to prepare. Contact our team for more information.

Should I order by the ton or yard?

It depends on the material. Rock and stone are typically sold by the ton, while soil and compost are sold by the cubic yard. Keep in mind that sand and soil will compact 15 to 20 percent, especially at depths over six inches, so a ton is roughly equal to 75 percent of a cubic yard. Our team can help you figure out exactly what you need.

What rock works best for drainage?

For drainage, you want a rock that does not pack down. Rip rap, surge rock, and gabion stone are good choices for erosion control and slope protection. For subsurface drainage, we carry drainage rock designed to keep water moving. Our team can walk you through the right option for your specific situation.

What soil should I use for lawns vs garden beds?

For lawns, a quality topsoil or a 50/50 blend works well for leveling and establishment. For garden beds, our Garden Ready or Rich Mix blends improve moisture retention and give plants a better start. We also carry specialty and custom-engineered mixes for more demanding applications. Our experts can help you choose based on your soil conditions and goals.

Are there requirements for delivery at my site?

Yes. Clearance requirements depend on the truck type. Flatbed deliveries need 9 feet wide by 10 feet high. Small dump trucks need 9 feet wide by 13.5 feet high plus 20 feet of clearance to raise the bed. Large dump trucks need 9 feet wide by 13.5 feet high plus 43 feet of height clearance and no sharp turns through neighborhoods or gates. We cannot dump on public property or neighboring private property without written permission. If your site is a new build without a confirmed address, please provide GPS coordinates or a pin when you contact our dispatch team.

Can I get samples or mockups before ordering?

Yes. We can provide samples and mockups up to 16 square feet to help you confirm your material selection before committing to a larger order. This is especially helpful for architects, designers, and contractors working on spec-driven projects. Contact us to set that up.

Do you provide mock-ups and submittals?

Yes we do. Minick provides up to 16 Sq/ft for mockups, samples, submittals, testing, etc.

How does Minick help with the speccing process?

Minick can help an architect write a spec so it calls out exactly what they are looking for. Many times, an architect likes a stone sample but changes the cut and percentage of color in that stone. We can help to write the spec so they get exactly what they want.
