The HR Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all human resource functions for Minick Materials. This role serves as a trusted partner to leadership and employees by managing recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, compliance, training, and organizational culture initiatives.
This role plays an important part in supporting and promoting Minick Materials’ culture and core values of growth, value, faith, service, and family while helping employees and leadership work together effectively. The HR Manager is expected to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and strong communication across all areas of the business.

Job duties:


  • Manage day-to-day HR operations for the company
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and employee training
  • Serve as the main contact for employee questions and workplace concerns
  • Maintain employee files, records, and HR documentation
  • Help managers with performance conversations, disciplinary actions, and employee development
  • Perform payroll processing and ensure accuracy
  • Administer employee benefits and assist employees with benefit questions
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and leave requests
  • Ensure company policies and HR practices remain compliant with employment laws
  • Assist with employee communication, engagement, and company events
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including account setup and termination procedures
  • Track PTO, training records, and other employee information
  • Help promote and uphold Minick Materials’ values, culture, and commitment to teamwork, service, and accountability
  • Work with leadership to support employee engagement and retention
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Other duties as assigned


 Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 5+ years of HR experience required
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, payroll, and benefits administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong leadership and conflict-resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Preferred experience: 


  • HR management or leadership experience
  • Payroll processing experience
  •  Experience in construction, manufacturing, trucking, or industrial environments
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems
  • Safety or workers’ compensation administration experience
  • Experience supporting multi-location operations
