At Minick Materials we have grown into a trusted Oklahoma stone supplier with a nation-wide customer base. But, since our founding in 1958 we have remained true to our Oklahoma roots. Over the years we’ve provided soil, stone, and other materials for many projects around the state that memorialize citizens lost to tragedy, celebrate Tribal heritage and present-day community, and emphasize nature in buildings and parks. In addition to these large-scale projects, Minick continues to supply materials to local churches, day cares, retirement centers and countless others in our local communities.
Here, we’ll highlight some of the projects for which we have provided materials in our own “backyard.” We are honored to have had these opportunities and hope you find them both beautiful and inspiring!
Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum

Minick provided engineered soil and stone that were placed around the survivor tree and around the Field of Empty Chairs. We also provided the stone beams, benches, and flagstone around the memorial.

We provided bulk, blended compost for the gardens at this free public park that opened in 2018. Our ability to prepare, store, and deliver large quantities of materials sets us apart from other suppliers.
Scissortail Park

This project required several different types of blended soil for beds, plantings, and other features throughout the 70 acre park in Oklahoma City.
OKANA Resort and Family Entertainment Center

For this family-friendly attraction in Oklahoma City, Minick supplied a custom, two-color, thin stone blend used on the outside of the facility and the limestone for beds, benches and edgings around restrooms, gates, and other transition areas.
First Americans Museum (FAM)

This unique museum honors the indigenous inhabitants of this region and the current 39 tribal nations of Oklahoma. We provided the Mesquabuck wall stone used in the grand entrance to the museum, along the bottom of the archway monument at the front of the property. The stone is named for Potawatomi Indian Chief Mes’kwah-buk, who himself was named after the sky’s colors at sunrise and sunset.
Educare Tulsa: Celia Clinton Elementary Campus

Our materials are used throughout this outdoor classroom construction project completed by JONESPLAN. Minick provided boulders, river rock, and Desert Gold aggregate, and Organic-Lock™, which is a specialized organic binder material.
Chickasaw Nation Community Center

This facility features space for outdoor sports and recreation and an indoor meeting and banquet facility. Minick supplied thin stone veneer for the building and full bed depth stone for the fence columns. We also provided special cut limestone caps for the chimney and columns, Desert Gold aggregate for the walking trails, and a variety of landscaping materials.
Choctaw Nation Headquarters

Minick provided both thin and bull bed depth special blend stone for the headquarters facility in Durant, OK. We also provided Washita river rock, boulders, flagstone, and landscaping materials.
Wings Special Needs Community

Wings serves the community of developmentally disabled adults in the Oklahoma City area by providing meaningful programming and social opportunities on their 75-acre campus. Minick provided tumbled lueders for the program center building.
